This JUDY represents the many symbols of freedom all over the world. Liberty is the representation of being free or having the ability to make uncoerced choices. She's been proudly portrayed throughout human history, across cultures, ethnic groups, and countless generations.

There is a fair amount of myth surrounding the sale of this land by the indigenous Lenape people to the Dutch in 1626. But it is fair to say the Lenape did not really see ownership of land as a thing. The 60 guilders ($1150 in 2025) the Dutch paid was seen as a fair deal at the time.
